An update on our claims process for storm damage

We’ve seen a lot of storm damage recently. We had almost two thousand weather claims in August alone, and by 8 October, our Household Claims had received 150% of the claim volumes we’d had in all of September. 

This is far more than we’d usually deal with at this time of year. It’s a significant change in the volume of people who need our immediate support. With this in mind, these are just some of the improvements we’ve made to our Household Claims processes: 

  • Our online claims service for customers is available on claim page
  • We are increasing the size of our claims team with immediate effect. Ten full time team members already, with 14 more joining us in November – and several part-time staff are now working extra hours in claims’ processing until the end of the year. 

And the forecast is for more rain to come.
