Making things simpler

Everyone benefits from simplicity, so we’re making an important change to our household offering next year.  

As you may have noticed, our existing Optima Household range and our House Guard product have a lot of crossover in the cover and limits they offer – meaning your customers may receive quotes from a number of Ageas Household products. So we thought, why keep confusing things with multiple products? 

With that in mind, we’ve decided to close our Optima Household range to new business across all of our software house partners from 1 January 2019. This will leave our House Guard product as the Ageas offering for your household customers, but don’t worry, you’re going to like what you see. 

Why House Guard?

You asked us to change our House Guard policy and we did. Last year we announced a new, clearer and better House Guard policy wording. 

We spent a lot of time researching and reworking how our flagship household product worked for you – creating a competitive, customer friendly household policy with richer cover and wider limits. And since House Guard’s refresh, we’ve seen a 50% year-on-year uplift in policy volumes, so take a look for yourself.

Due to their similarities, House Guard has the same (and sometimes improved) policy coverage and limits as the Optima range. And, as you would expect, your customers will get the same great service from Ageas.

Renewals & Mid-Term Adjustments

To make things easier for the near future, the Optima range will remain available for renewals and mid-term adjustments - as your Ageas customers naturally transition to House Guard. We’re currently working on a policy migration solution - we’ll let you know more about that next year.
