Important changes to Ageas House Guard

Customers need policies that are easy to understand, and we want to help brokers offer them simplified insurance that delivers even better value. With this in mind, we're announcing some important updates to Ageas House Guard. 

House Guard - more value and easier to understand 

Firstly, we’ve given House Guard a complete refresh from a Consumer Duty perspective. It's easier to understand now, and it's offering more value, too. There's also more signposting to help customers find any extra detail they may need.

One increase in excess, but several positive increases in claim limits 

We're changing the excess on Escape of Water / Escape of Oil, this will increase from £350 to £500.  

We're increasing some claim limits on House Guard. We believe customers will like this, and appreciate how easy it is to understand. The increases to maximum claim limits are as follows - and these are examples of how we've improved the policy wording, too:  

• We’ve increased the maximum claim amount for money in the home to £1,000.
• We’ve increased the maximum claim amount for theft from an unlocked outbuilding or garage to £2,500.
• We’ve increased the maximum claim amount for theft from a locked outbuilding or garage to £5,000.
• We’ve increased the maximum claim amount for accidental loss of oil.
• We’ve increased the amount that the customer's contents maximum claim limit can be increased by for special events.
• We’ve increased the maximum claim amount for downloads and computer files to £2,500.
• There's no change to the limit we will pay for theft from outbuildings and / or garages, but we’ve clarified the total overall amount as £5,000.
