BIBA Manifesto 2023

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (BIBA) annual manifesto gives us all food for thought.

It’s a watchword, helping to focus our entire industry on the issues that affect our customers, our businesses and wider society. We’re proud to support this year’s manifesto, ‘Managing Risk – Building Stability’, and were honoured to be in attendance at the official launch this week.

This year’s manifesto looks at a plethora of topics which have an impact on the industry, ranging from access to insurance to regulation.

And within an important section on ensuring financial resilience and stability in difficult times, we share insight into our work to help vulnerable customers.

Adam Beckett, our Chief Distribution Officer, says, “The cost-of-living crisis is hitting families hard. We’ve been working with data experts to understand how different parts of the population may be affected and how this might be reflected in our customers’ needs. We’re building on our vulnerable customer programme and upskilling our customer-facing teams with training to support those who find themselves in extremely testing situations.”

Launching this year’s manifesto, Steve White, BIBA CEO explained, “This year’s manifesto links together issues relating to helping with the cost of living, helping the UK economy to grow and helping solve key risks that face consumers and businesses. Brokers have a key role to play in all of these. The insurance broking sector is the place to go to for choice, expert advice, and assistance in arranging suitable and valuable insurance protection all of which help to manage risk and increase stability.”

Ageas UK is an award-winning leader in Personal Lines, totally committed to understanding the key issues our brokers are facing.
