Luton Airport Car Park Fire

Here’s what we’re doing to support your customers whose vehicle may have been lost or damaged because of this incident.

As you will have seen in the news, on Tuesday 10 October 2023, a fire broke out at Luton Airport’s Terminal 2 Car Park with reports of over 1,500 vehicles affected.  

We’re currently waiting for a confirmation on how many Ageas policyholders have been unfortunately affected. Once we know more, we may send a representative to assess the situation when access to the site has been granted by Luton Airport. 

We appreciate the distress that customers and their travelling partners will be experiencing. Here’s what we’re doing to support your customers whose vehicle may have been lost or damaged because of this incident. 

  • We’ve established a dedicated phoneline for your customers to discuss their individual circumstances with our expert Motor Claims Team on 0345 322 0100 
  • We'll waive all policy excesses for vehicles that have been lost or damaged
  • We're ensuring that customers will continue to benefit from their existing no claims discount 
  • We’re fully covering total loss vehicles and the cost for those that can be repaired
  • We’re covering your customers’ travel back home once they’ve arrived back in the UK. This includes those customers whose return flights have been diverted to an alternative airport
  • We’ll discuss any onward mobility issues your customer may need after they’ve returned home
