New Ageas House Guard updates

We’re making some changes to New Ageas House Guard on Open GI (OGI). The updates will apply to all new business from 1 November 2026 and to renewals from 1 December 2026. They will be rolled out across other software houses in due course.

We’re also pleased to confirm that the auto-renewal functionality is now available on OGI.

Policy documentation updates

As part of a wider review of our policy documentation, we’re updating our policy wording and schedule to improve clarity and make the cover easier for customers to understand.

The key changes include:

  • A new £15,000 policy limit for contents stored in outbuildings and garages for all insured events other than theft. The existing theft limits remain unchanged at £5,000 in total across all outbuildings and garages, with a limit of £2,500 per unlocked outbuilding or garage.
  • Clarification of the flood exclusion, including where contents need to be kept to be covered and how gradual water damage is treated.
  • Updated cancellation terms within the first 14 days, clarifying how refunds are calculated.
  • The Legal Expenses Insurance premium will be shown separately in the Policy Schedule. This change has been requested by ARAG, our Legal Expenses Insurance provider, to support Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) requirements for the premium to be clearly shown as a separate amount.

You can review the updated New Ageas House Guard policy wording here.

A Notice to Policyholder explaining these changes will be available for you to access as part of the renewal document suite. You can also review the full Notice to Policyholder here.

Auto-renewal is now available

The auto-renewal functionality for New Ageas House Guard is now available on OGI. This means policies will no longer need to be manually re-broked at renewal to ensure cover remains in place.

Known issue with Mid-Term Adjustments (MTAs)

We are continuing to work with OGI on a known issue. At present, MTAs on policies already in the renewal cycle will not process as expected.

If you need to make a change to a policy in the renewal cycle, please either:

  • Re-broke the policy; or
  • Wait until after the renewal date to process the adjustment.

We will provide a further update once a fix is available.
