Optima Home range

As you know, we’ve already started to streamline our household range – but we’ve decided to do more.

Making things even simpler

Last year, we said we’d like to make your lives easier by simplifying our household insurance range. So, we’re decided to close Optima Home, meaning House Guard is now your Ageas choice. Here’s how you can transfer your customers over to House Guard.

What do you need to do?

If you’d like your existing customers to stay with Ageas, then you’ll need to manually re-broke them from Optima Home into our House Guard policy from Wednesday 31 July.

Here’s the override code you’ll need for qualifying customers: HHTRANS

Don’t worry – unless House Guard is cheaper, you can offer your qualifying customers the expiring premium they’d have had with Optima Home with a 3% increase to cover claims inflation costs as long as:

  • the risk, cover details, commission and terms and conditions are on a like-for-like basis
  • there hasn’t been any changes to the risk in the 40 days prior to renewal
  • the renewal occurs between now and 1 September 2020, when this offer will expire, and,
  • there hasn’t been a claim in the last 12 months.

Why House Guard?

You asked us to improve our House Guard policy. House Guard’s policy wording is clearer and easier for your customers to understand – boosting their confidence in us, and you.

We spent a lot of time reworking our flagship household product – creating a competitive, customer friendly household policy with richer cover and wider limits. And since House Guard’s refresh, we’ve seen a 50% year-on-year uplift in policy volumes. Have a quick look at the policy details now, and you’ll see what we’ve done.

Due to their similarities, House Guard has the same (and sometimes improved) policy coverage and limits as the Optima range. And, as you would expect, your customers will get the same great service from Ageas.
