(Re)introducing Ageas House Guard

We think you’ll like the range of changes we’re bringing in for the all-new Ageas House Guard policy – a product that your customers already know and love.

We’re adding more features. We’re making it easier to choose a comprehensive, flexible policy and – behind the scenes – we’re making other changes that will make a difference, too. Things like collecting more granular details, which means we can offer more precise premiums.

The new Ageas House Guard will replace our existing suite of household cover options. Any other existing products will soon stop accepting new business but, as you’d expect, we will carry on accepting mid-term adjustments. Shortly after House Guard is available through your software house, we’ll start to auto-migrate your renewing Ageas household customers – to make things easier for you, too.

Getting started with Ageas Household

If you’re not familiar with Ageas House Guard, you’ll find full details of the cover and benefit details here. But if you know a little bit about our household policies already, you’ll recognise these improvements:

• A new, peril-rated approach to our premiums. That means more precise pricing, and that should make us even more competitive for your customers.
• Availability via our Insurer Hosted Pricing hub – the latest prices in real-time, which means accurate and competitive rates with no system delays for updates.
• An even wider underwriting footprint that covers more property types and customers - such as listed buildings, holiday homes, customers with a CCJ or an IVA perhaps. Check the full range of options here.
• Plus bedroom rated Buildings Cover up to £1m (or up to £1.5m on a sums insured basis) and bedroom rated Contents Cover up to £100k (or up to £150k on a sums insured basis).

Increased limits mean wider appeal

We’ve also increased the limits on a number of options within the policy.

Buildings

• Lock & Key Replacement increased from £1000 to the buildings sum insured
• Cover for being forced to leave the home increased from £500 to 20% of buildings sum insured

Contents

• Limit for contents in the open increased from £1,500 to £2,000
• Single item limit in the open increased from £300 to £500
• Limit for a single item of business equipment increased from £2k to £2,500
• Limit for fatal injury increased from £5,000 to £10,000

Plus, we’ve added cover for contents in storage for theft, fire or lightening.

Make the switch for renewing customers today

There’ll be four commission variants for you to choose from: three gross commissions (15%, 20%, 25%). You’ll need to activate the commission level you’d prefer, so please take care when selecting one of our schemes. You may need to contact our underwriting support team on the details below.

We have also introduced a new variant to accommodate ‘net’ of commission rating. If this is something you are keen to explore with us please contact your Account Manager, or the Ageas Broker Connect Team.
