Ant Middle, Chief Executive Officer - Ageas UK

Ant Middle’s journey with Ageas began in 2014, driven by a passion for creating meaningful connections with customers and partners. Over the years, he has shaped the business through pivotal roles, including Managing Director of Partnerships and Chief Customer Officer, before stepping into the role of CEO in 2020.

Ant’s influence extends beyond the UK, as a member of the Ageas Group Business Committee, where he contributes to the company’s growth across Europe and Asia.

With a career spanning general, health, and life insurance, Ant brings deep industry knowledge and a relentless focus on customer experience. This commitment is reflected in his role as a Vice President of the Institute of Customer Service, where he champions higher standards across industries.

In 2024, Ant’s dedication to improving customer experience was recognised with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the UK Customer Experience Awards, a testament to his impact on the sector and his belief that brilliant service is at the heart of great business.

 

Adam Beckett, Managing Director, Broker & Partnerships

 

Adam is responsible for the continued growth and performance of Ageas UK's broker and partnerships channel. He joined Ageas in January 2021 following 21 years at Aviva. With well-rounded experience of marketing, digital, proposition development and distribution in a range of general insurance markets, Adam has expertise of growing partnerships with the broker, aggregator, retail and affinity channels. He is proficient in working with brokers to develop products, service propositions and innovative offers for customers and distribution partners across a wide range of brands. Having held a number of insurtech board roles in the last two to three years, he also collaborates closely with insurtechs to identify ways to work with them and how they can grow with Ageas. He is a member of The Board at the Motor Insurance Bureau.

 

Alan MacEwan, Chief Customer & Operations Officer

With a 20-year career in operations, Alan MacEwan brings his expertise to the Ageas executive team following the acquisition of esure Group.

Having led the esure operations team across multiple locations, his focus on providing brilliant customer service aligns with Ageas’s customer-led strategy. As such this focus continues, as does Alan’s responsibility for leading on digital-first service journeys while ensuring frictionless customer experiences. With experience of implementing complex digital transformation programmes, his support in the integration will be invaluable.

 

Andy Burton, Chief Technology Officer (Interim)

Taking on the role of Chief Technology Officer on an interim basis, Andy Burton joins Ageas following the esure Group acquisition.

With over 30 years’ experience of working in and leading technology teams, Andy is responsible for the technology strategy, delivering tech initiatives, and ensuring security and stability of technical platforms, with a particular focus on the integration of the Ageas and esure platforms.

 

Caroline Smith, Chief People Officer

Caroline Smith joins the Ageas executive team as part of the esure Group acquisition, responsible for leading, developing, and implementing the people strategy. Her role and comprehensive experience of change management is fundamental to the integration of the two businesses.

Previous roles go beyond people strategy, Caroline set up a new transformation division at Lloyds Bank and took on critical HR leadership and change management in Pearson Group, PepsiCo and BT.

 

 

Helen Cooper, Chief Risk Officer

Helen Cooper is responsible for leading the risk, compliance, legal and company secretariat functions across Ageas UK.

She joined Ageas as part of the esure acquisition in 2025, having been the Chief Risk Officer at esure since 2022. Prior to esure, Helen was the Group Chief Actuary at Hiscox where she was responsible for multiple legal entities globally and involved in the global finance transformation. Before Hiscox, Helen was a director at KPMG advising on transformation and change across the insurance industry.

Helen is also a member of the Board for Thatcham Research and the Every Day, Every Child multi-academy (schools) trust.

 

Jonathan Price, Chief Financial Officer

Jonathan Price joined Ageas in February 2019 and has primary responsibility for financial planning, management of financial risks, and financial reporting for the UK business. Jonathan came to Ageas directly from his role as UK CFO at Aspen Insurance Group. Before joining Aspen he worked at Aviva for over six years, ultimately holding the position of UK Chief Accountant for its general insurance business.

 

Peter Martin-Simon, Chief Executive Officer - esure

Following Ageas’s acquisition of esure Group, Peter Martin-Simon was appointed Chief Executive Officer in September 2025.

Having previously held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at esure, Peter was responsible for pricing underwriting, customer, marketing and data and analytics teams. From this and other roles at British Gas, Barclays, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), he brings with him extensive knowledge and experience of strategy, transformation, and digitisation.

 

 

 

Stephen Linklater, Chief Claims Officer

Stephen Linklater is responsible for the claims process across all channels including motor, household and commercial. Stephen also works closely with the supply chain and external partnerships.Stephen joined Ageas as Head of Household underwriting in 2008 and has held various senior roles within Ageas and was most recently Managing Director Commercial. Before joining Ageas Stephen held roles at RSA and Hastings. He is a Member of The Board for Thatcham Research.

 

Tom Quirke, Chief Underwriting Officer

Appointed to Ageas UK's Executive Team as Chief Underwriting Officer at the start of 2025, Tom leads and oversees the underwriting function, including pricing, fraud prevention, and reinsurance. In addition, he plays a prominent role in enhancing Ageas's data analytics capabilities through leadership of the Advanced Analytics and Data Science team.

Tom initially joined as a Trainee Actuary, progressing to Chief Actuary in 2016, before creating Ageas’s Data Science team in 2022. Throughout his time at Ageas, Tom has demonstrated strong leadership, strategic planning, and data-driven decision-making.
